Manufacturing Planner

MECO is seeking a Manufacturing Planner based in the Mandeville location. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of all aspects of the manufacturing process focused on an engineer to order equipment manufacturer, a keen eye for detail, and a pursuit of continuous improvement for the department and company.  Planning includes creating work orders, processing change orders, coordinating department schedules, coordinating equipment schedules, and balancing/forecasting shop load.

Responsibilities: :

  • Plan, schedule and manage production activities while proactively working with purchasing, manufacturing manager, quality, engineering and project management.
  • Develop project schedules and plans working with Applications and Project Management.
  • Maintaining standard lead time of common components to facilitate forecasting.
  • Advise management on the status of work orders, material availability and potential production problems and issues to ensure capacity requirements such as personnel, equipment, and materials are available as needed.
  • Develop work orders and facilitate the release as defined by MRP and schedules.
  • Coordinate production schedules and process engineering change orders working with applicable shop foreman.
  • Develop and maintain reports using tools such as ERP software and Excel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology or Industrial Engineering.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Computer proficiency (Excel, Outlook, general overall PC knowledge).
  • Programming skills for report writing in programs such as Excel using VBA and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge of Machining and Fabrication methods / techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of Inventory, Bills of Materials, Work Orders, & ERP system.
  • Understanding of Facilities & equipment planning.
  • Basic Understanding of Motion and Time Studies.
