President

GREG QUEEN

Mr. Queen holds bachelor’s degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine. Greg most recently joined MECO from JWC Environmental, where he served as the President. Before JWC, he worked at Brasstech as the Vice President of Operations. Earlier in his career, he held several leadership roles in Operations for Rosemount Analytical, Liquid, and Micro Motion, all of which are divisions of Emerson. His areas of expertise include operations management, engineering, strategic planning, business development, and business process improvement.

VICE PRESIDENT - TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

KIM KLEIN

Mr. Klein received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.  Mr. Klein worked at Riley Beaird for five years as Project Engineer for heat recovery systems. He has been with MECO since 1985 where he has held a variety of engineering and manufacturing positions since joining MECO and has been involved in many ways with all MECO products. These include large land based thermal and membrane water purification plants, U.S. Military contracts and a vast array of pharmaceutical grade water purification plants. Mr. Klein holds two patents for MECO.

Chief Financial Officer

Brendon D'Souza

Mr. D’Souza joined MECO in 2022 as MECO’s Chief Financial Officer. At Grundfos, Mr. D’Souza was the Senior Regional Finance Manager Controlling the Americas Region since 2010. Mr. D’Souza has been with Grundfos for 13 years supporting various parts of the organization from Sales, Service and Operations. Appointed as Plant Controller for GCB in 2016 with responsibility for leading local Operations for finance including driving production productivity. In 2019 assumed the role as acting Finance Manager for PPU being responsible for supporting local management & BOD to gain visibility on the financial performance and in completing key financial processes. Mr. D’Souza holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Commerce.

Head of Engineering

Chet Nunez

Chet Nunez is the Head of Engineering for MECO. Mr. Nunez has 32 years of experience designing and constructing water purification equipment for the pharmaceutical industry. He has extensive experience with vapor compression, multiple effect, reverse osmosis, ion exchange, and enhanced membrane systems using micro- and ultrafiltration membranes. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Orleans. He is an active, licensed professional engineer in the state of Texas. Mr. Nunez holds one patent for MECO.

Head of Client Services

Bill Essary

Mr. Essary joined MECO in 2003 as a Project Manager and was promoted to Parts and Service Manager in 2009. In January 2023, Mr. Essary was promoted to Head of Client Services.  In addition to being responsible for MECO’s legacy downstream services, Mr. Essary is responsible for the general management role of the newly acquired Water Works business in San Diego, California.  Mr. Essary has been with MECO for 20 years overseeing the downstream support of clients, downstream business development of the firm including the supply of spare parts and service. Prior to joining MECO, he spent 9 years in engineering, project management and procurement with Aquatech International, where he managed several domestic and international water treatment projects in various industries. Mr. Essary holds a BSc in industrial engineering from West Virginia University.

Head of Operations

Shelley Compton

Shelley Compton is an experienced technical leader with more than twenty-five years of diverse operations, engineering, and executive management experience within the defense, industrial, commercial, and service industries. Shelley has returned to MECO after serving as Vice President of Quality, Engineering & Supply Management with Seemann Composites LLC. She has held previous leadership roles such as Vice President of Life Cycle Support and Vice President of Engineering with Textron Marine & Land Systems and as Vice President of Quality & Technical Services for MECO. She was a Co-owner / Partner with Hawk Industrial Services and held additional positions with American Airlines, Philip Electronics, and Texas Instruments.

Shelley received her Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mississippi. She has held Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and AS9100 and ISO9001 Lead Auditor certifications. She is currently a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).

Head of Human Resources

Pam Dychtwald

Ms. Dychtwald is the Head of MECO’s Human Resources department, bringing over 20 years of HR expertise. She began her career in Employee Training and Development, a focus that has provided her with invaluable insights into motivating teams through continuous education and growth opportunities—an essential focus as MECO strives to foster ongoing development across our workforce. Pam joined MECO in 2023 after serving for more than seven years as Director of Talent Management. At her previous company, she was responsible for the full spectrum of HR functions, including recruitment, retention, training, payroll, and benefits administration. Pam holds a bachelor’s degree in General Studies from Louisiana State University, and her deep understanding of organizational growth and employee engagement makes her a key leader in advancing MECO’s operational goals. Ms. Dychtwald is a SHRM Certified Professional.

Head of Sales North America

Krista Kern

With over 15 years in the Biopharmaceutical industry, Ms. Kern has held various roles, from Clinical Manufacturing to Sales and Commercial Leadership. Ms. Kern holds a degree from the University of Georgia. She most recently joined MECO from Danaher, where she held multiple roles in Global Strategic Account Management and regional sales leadership, most recently serving as Senior Director for North America at Leica Microsystems. Ms. Kern’s areas of expertise include capital and consumable sales, business strategy, and strategic market execution. In her new role, Ms. Kern will effectively manage both the MECO and Water Works capital equipment sales teams to vigorously drive market growth and fully capitalize on the teams’ robust synergies.

General Manager of MECO Asia-Pacific

Jason Koh

Jason Joined MECO Singapore as Business Development Manager in 2013. Prior to joining MECO, he has more than 15 years’ experience in Technical Sales Roles in Asia region, covering mainly the Electronics
Manufacturing & Semi-Conductor industry. Has has a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Nanyang Technological University and MBA from Adelaide University. He has taken over the General Manager Role
for MECO Singapore office since 2016, handling the Sales & Service for MECO Clients in the Asia Pacific Region.

General Manager of MECO Ireland Ltd.

James Clifford

James joined as General Manager for MECO Ireland in April 2021. He brings more than 15 years’ experience to MECO, having worked in a variety of engineering & commercial roles across manufacturing and medical device industries, including eight years with an Australian water pumping & purification equipment manufacturer. James has a Mechanical Engineering degree from National University of Ireland, Galway and a Master of Marketing from Melbourne Business School. James is responsible for handling the Sales & Service for MECO Clients in Europe.

Manufacturing Manager

MATTHEW MONDELLO

Mr. Mondello is the Manufacturing Manager. He has been with MECO since 2011. He has a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Louisiana State University. Mr. Mondello has been MECO’s Quality Manager for the past six years. During his tenure in this position, Mr. Mondello has made significant contributions to our quality program and quality objectives as evidenced by all measures. His hard work and professionalism have made him an outstanding representative of MECO. As such, his experience has provided him with the opportunity to become intimately familiar with MECO system procedures, work processes, and the industry needs.

Marketing Manager

Natolie Grabert

Mrs. Grabert joined MECO in 2014 and assumed her current role as Marketing Manager in 2017. Mrs. Grabert develops marketing strategy and implements initiatives co current with the firm’s objectives for business development. She is responsible for the firm’s brand management, market communications and all marketing activities. She is an active member of the AMA and is engaged with various international organizations the firm is associated with. Mrs. Grabert is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing.

Midwest Regional Manager (USA)

Darren Haney

Darren Haney joined MECO as our Midwest Sales Manager for the Biopharm market in 2010. Formerly with Paul Mueller Company, Darren brings 32 years of experience in the fields of capital equipment sales, sales management, and customer service in the Biotech and Pharmaceutical industries. Darren also served six years in the United States Air Force.

Regional Business Development Manager (APAC)

Dr. Louis Hon Kar Cherng

Louis joined MECO as a Technical Sales Manager in 2017. Prior to joining MECO, He had been a researcher and industrial technologist advocating new green technologies and exploring solutions towards a sustainable environment and future, with a special interest in water treatment technologies.  Dr. Louis obtained his B. Eng. (First Class Honors) degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Mechatronic and Marine Offshore Technology, as well as a PhD. degree from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) of Singapore in 2007 and 2015, respectively, and a patent under his name.

He is currently the Regional Business Development Manager championing water purification technologies and solutions specifically for biopharma industries, with his primary role in driving business and supporting sustainability quest for clientele in the Asia Pacific market.

Northeast Regional Manager (USA)

Kyle Kalinowski

Mr. Kalinowski joined MECO as our Northeast Regional Sales Manager in early 2020. Prior to joining the team, he held engineering and sales positions with another OEM for 8 years, focusing on wastewater treatment and high-purity water systems in the biopharma, food and beverage, and semiconductor industries. Kyle holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Connecticut.

Southeast Regional Manager (USA)

David Brooks

David has over 20 years of experience in various roles supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and other critical process utilities for the industry. He has primarily focused on developing water solutions for commercial applications and the pharmaceutical industry but has also gained extensive experience in applications involving HVAC, building automation, and industrial process temperature control. Based in the Asheville, NC area, David will be responsible for supporting MECO clients in MD, VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, WV, eastern KY, eastern TN (including Nashville), and AL.

D/A/CH REGIONAL MANAGER

Daniel Breitfeld

Mr. Breitfeld brings more than 17 years of experience in water treatment to MECO. For much of his career, he worked with Grundfos water treatment projects office as a technical and commercial consultant for large projects for drinking and waste treatment plants. Before his career with Grundfos, he was working in a medium-sized system builder company in Northern Germany as a project manager for RO seawater desalination systems. Mr. Breitfeld is based in the Karlsruhe region/ Southwest Germany and will support primarily Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

UK Regional Manager

Michel Muhmenthaler

With nearly 20 years of experience in clean utilities, Michel has held various roles in Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and Business Development. Mr. Muhmenthaler began his career in 1996 as a Lab Technician at Novartis. He then worked for BWT Switzerland as the Manufacturing Coordinator before spending 10 years at BWT UK as the Regional Sales Manager. Following that, he served as the Business Development Director of Clean Utilities for Austar for 4 years. Now, he is taking on the role of MECO’s Regional Manager to expand MECO’s presence in the UK and throughout Europe.
