We are seeking a Field Service Technician to service the Greater Boston area.
Core Responsibilities
Perform on-site troubleshooting of equipment
Provide classroom and hands-on training for MECO equipment operation and maintenance to customers
Troubleshoot and resolve field service problems
Adjust equipment settings to specifications
Identify and promote proactive, value-added service opportunities
Perform installation supervision, commissioning, operation and maintenance of MECO equipment at customer site.
Develop positive working relationship with customers
Self-manage
Manage travel logistics and related expenses
Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge
High school diploma or equivalent plus technical training:
- Industrial workplace safety (mechanical, electrical, chemical, fire and material handling)
- Industrial math including applied geometry and practical trigonometry
- Practical measurements (length, temperature, energy, force, power, fluid, etc.)
- Bench work
- Preventive maintenance techniques
- Report writing
4-6 years electrical/mechanical equipment experience
Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers required
Ability to ready blueprints, plans & wiring schematics
Hands-on experience working with instrumentation and electrical components required
Previous knowledge of water purification equipment and processes preferred
Competent with personal computers and office related software
Must reside in the Greater Boston Area.
Departmental Culture and Working Environment
Involves traveling by air, coast to coast, and overseas if needed, for a minimum of 3 days to generally a maximum of 3 weeks. Expected travel time is 80% to 100%. Working with a wide range of people in pharmaceutical, industrial and petrochemical environment. Company culture is one of continuous improvement and high-quality standards.
